A Christmas Story - by Hope
When I first walked in the cafeteria to see the Christmas play, the kindergartners were on stage. They sang four songs and were awesome! After that came the first graders and then the second grader. They sang six songs and were really good.
Next, everybody that was in the chorus went up on stage. They sang "Chillin.'" The show was seven songs and they were so good that I almost cried! That was my favorite performance ever! I hope they have people up there agin who are as talented as that group!
Last week, Hydee and Jingles came to visit us again. Our class had decorated Christmas bags for Miss Sue to take to the facility that Hydee and Jingles are therapy dogs at. Miss Sue loved the bags so much that she brought us cake and ice cream! Of course, Hydee and Jingles didn't have any cake or ice cream, they had carrots! (Actually, Hydee had a tummy ache and didn't get to have any carrots, so Jingles ate hers for her). It's been a fun year so far, just way too busy!

Deep Creek Preserve Field Trip
Deep Creek Preserve (by Megan Silvey)
For the field trip on November 29, we dug holes with augers to take soil samples. Mrs. Cary told us about the three main soils. They are silt, sand and clay. We also made mud paintings with the different soils.
Miss Ivy took us on a little hike and showed us three gopher tortoise holes. We went across a bridge that had an occupancy limit (three students at a time). Mr. Weaver brought some taxidermy animals. We saw a rattlesnake, two quail, a bear, a raccoon and a bobcat. The bear looked so real it could have walked away. It was amazing! I speak for everyone when I say this, Lunch was delicious!!! (grilled hot dogs, chips, homemade cookies and brownies and capri suns).
